Nice car
I was given a rare opportunity to drive an exotic car to a race track (and back) during the week-end, and to ride it on the track as a passenger.

All the way on the road, the car was screaming "play with me". It clearly wanted me to drop a gear and go 30 mph faster, but that'd have been illegal enough to land me into trouble for sure. It's obvious that such a car is built for the track, not for the road, and if any of the lucky people who own such cars don't actually drive them on racetracks the way those cars are meant to be driven, the owners in question really don't know what they're missing.

I have no idea how you were able to restrain yourself that much :)
Besides, the best way to be in shape for the track is daily practise :)

Well, I wasn't familiar with the car, and it wasn't really the kind of car that I could afford to damage. Also, there was quite some law enforcement along the way, and I didn't want to have to explain to them why I was speeding in a car that wasn't even mine.

That being said, I won't disagree that driving the car on a regular basis is important to keep the "feel" for it. I want to an autocross a few years ago s spectator even though I could have entered, as I had not driven my camaro for a few months, and didn't feel comfortable pushing it around.
